THE GARDENING CLUB hold its meetings in the Morlais Room on the third Wednesday of every month at 7pm run by David Butt.
David's background and aims are listed below:
My gardening history.
I started gardening at an early age and was competing in local flower shows at the age of eight.
I trained and then worked at Pencoed College for many years, running the grounds, lecturing at the college, and to gardening clubs and societies throughout South Wales.
I moved to Llanelli and worked for CCTA at Pibwrlydd and had links to local garden clubs, growers, The National Botanic Gardens and Aberglasney Gardens.
I was Head Gardener at private estates in Kent and Warwickshire, developing organic and environmentally friendly gardens. At present I manage the grounds and organic vegetable gardens at the Grove in Narberth.
Let's Grow Together.
Come along and enjoy our monthly gardening club at Llangennech Community Centre every third Wednesday at 7pm. First meeting to discuss our ideas and the way forward will be held on Wednesday 21st September at 7pm.
Each month will have a different topic, with talks and demonstration of seasonal gardening; if possible we will try to do some practical work too.
Including - garden design, growing - flowers; vegetables and salads; propagation; lawns; gardening for children; gardening made easier.
Bring along your gardening questions, and plants you need to be named or to show to other members.
We are developing the Community Garden, to encourage wild life and show basic growing techniques for flower and vegetable gardening, come along and help improve the community area and your own skills.
